Synopsis

         Max Black (KAT DENNINGS) et Caroline Channing (BETH BEHRS), deux serveuses d’un diner moisi, essaient de lancer leur propre business de cupcakes.

Critique

            Nouvelle série de CBS en 2012, 2 Broke Girls bénéficiait de la présence à son casting de Kat Dennings, excellente actrice indépendante et Garrett Morris, ex comédien original du Saturday Night Live.

            La première partie de la saison était plutôt encourageante, étant donné l’alchimie vraiment efficace entre les comédiennes, pas franchement transcendantes. Les gags étaient éculés, reposaient entièrement sur des dialogues moyens, mais c’était déclamé avec tellement d’envie que ça provoquait la sympathie chez le spectateur lambda. Lors de la pause de mi-saison, certains journalistes reprochèrent à Michael Patrick King les gags trop raciaux. Le créateur de Sex & the City l’ayant très mal pris, la seconde partie de la saison dépasse les limites de la bienséance et enchaîne les gags racistes, sexistes, idiots, pseudo-branchés et surtout fainéants. Les mauvaises performances du supporting cast se ressent encore plus, tant Garrett Morris y est détestable (non, aucune personne réelle ne parle qu’en one-liners) et Jennifer Coolidge irritante.

            De série sympathiquement limitée, 2 Broke Girls est devenue une série détestable, profondément ignorante plus que réellement raciste et peu intéressante tant on a perdu de vue le principe originel. Très décevant.
